Why does the Helper Bot ask for an API key?
The app is free and we don't have a backend. To use the AI bot, you provide your own API key from Google (free) or Anthropic (free $5 starter credit). Your key stays on your phone only — we never see it. You can use the app fully without setting up the bot.
Why does Comp Pull ask for a separate API key?
Same reason — RentCast (the property data provider) offers a free tier of 50 lookups per month with no credit card required. Sign up at rentcast.io to get a key.
Is my saved data backed up?
No. All your saved deals, buyers, contracts, and other data lives only on your phone. There is no cloud backup. If you uninstall the app or factory-reset your phone, the data is lost. Cloud sync is planned for a future version.
Are the contract templates legally binding?
The templates are educational starting points. They include standard language used by attorneys, but every state has different requirements. Always have a licensed real estate attorney in your state review any contract before signing. We are not a law firm and the app is not legal advice.
Do the market scores or comps come from real sources?
Yes — Market Scorecard pulls live data from US Census Bureau (population), Bureau of Labor Statistics (unemployment), FBI Crime Data API (crime rates), FRED (mortgage rates), and Yahoo Finance (stocks). Comp Pull uses the RentCast API. We don't make up numbers.
Will adding cloud sync, AI usage, or Pro features cost money later?
A Pro tier is planned for the future to fund development. The current v1 features will remain free. Pro will likely include cloud sync, the AI bot without needing your own key, and unlimited comp pulls. Pricing not yet finalized.
I'm getting an error message I don't understand — what do I do?
Email us the screenshot and what you were trying to do. Most errors fall into one of these categories:
How do I export my data before uninstalling?
Use the PDF export button on any saved deal, budget, or contract. There is currently no bulk export — we're adding this in a future update. For now, you can email yourself PDFs of each deal one at a time.
Does the app work on Android?
Android version is in development. iOS is launching first.
